I believe that eating, drinking and communicating are the fundamentals of who we are and what we do as human beings. It's how we share stories and connect with others. That's why I feel privileged and passionate about working with my clients and helping them understand and work through their challenges in these areas.

I graduated from Plymouth Marjon University (UK) with a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in Speech and Language Therapy in 2015. I have since worked across the field with adults experiencing speech, language, voice, laryngeal dysfunction and swallowing disorders in a variety of settings. This includes hospital wards, outpatient clinics and in clients' own homes. Alongside my clinical work, I have undertaken a speech therapy management role, representing the profession regionally and assisting with national vision and strategy. I strive for excellence and client focused care. I am a registered member of the New Zealand Speech Language Therapy Association (NZSTA), national special interest groups and of Voice Medicine Australia. I have a special interest in delivery of services via telehealth, particualrly in rural areas and am a member of the Telehealth New Zealand Communities of Practice forum.

I emigrated to New Zealand in 2017, falling in love with the beautiful people, scenery and outdoor lifestyle. When out of the office I can be found riding, running or hiking the trails of Otago and spending time with my loved ones.

Ali is a highly experienced Speech-language Therapist, with a specialist focus in laryngology and neurological communication and swallowing disorders. She brings over twenty years of clinical expertise with a strong emphasis on personalised care.

Born in Scotland, Ali graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 1996 and spent ten years working in the United Kingdom. During this time, she developed advanced expertise in the assessment and treatment of complex voice and neurological conditions across a range of specialist services. Ali moved to New Zealand in 2007 after meeting her New Zealand born husband in Scotland. Ali subsequently worked clinically for Canterbury District Health and in a leadership role at Dunstan Hospital. This brought her back to Central Otago, fulfilling a long-standing goal to reconnect with family roots and the local community.

Ali is known for her approachable manner, and commitment to helping clients achieve meaningful, functional outcomes in everyday life through her passion for coaching and mentoring. She lives rurally on their small farm with her husband and three children. Outside of work, she loves spending time outdoors with her family, dogs, and horses, embracing the lifestyle and landscape of the region. She can often be found skiing in the winter and out on the lakes in the summer.
